Resources You Didn’t Know You Needed: New Mom Edition
Resources for new moms are not scarce when it comes to finding out you are pregnant. Everyone will share their personal “Do’s” and “Don’t-s” with you. Now, as a mom of two myself, I’ve learned a lot on what worked for me and my kids. But, as a Certified Lactation Consultant (CLC), I’ve learned even more.
I wanted to spend a little time putting together an Amazon list of all the breastfeeding/lactation/nursing/pumping related items I discuss with my expectant mama patients. Please note, this is not an all encompassing list. Also please note, this list does include many, what I consider to be, “bougie” items. Or you will find options of what I consider to be the essentials and some fun non-essentials.
Follow this link to the list, and then in the upper right hand corner please “Filter” by “Priority (high to low).”
The first few rows include several different brands of milk collectors, breast pumps, and flange inserts. You will then find my daycare provider’s top recommendation for breastmilk storage bags (she has been a provider for nearly 10 years and swears by these bags as being the best for not leaking when thawing.) I’ve included other items like nipple pads, several bottle types/recommendations, and also cleaning supplies for pump parts when returning to work (or to use at home). Like I mentioned earlier, plenty on this list is a need to have, and some things are just a want or a nice to have item.
If you see anything on the list you’d like to learn more about or are wondering, “Why is she recommending that??” please don’t hesitate to reach out to us and I’m more than happy to tell you why!
