There’s more to physical therapy…

By Jenny Johnson – CC’s Staff

There’s more to physical therapy than the common conditions like rehabbing your arm or leg after surgery, or getting back to a sport you love. PTs can use your eyes to evaluate and to treat many conditions in many ways!

Eye assessments can be used to detect and treat:
👁 concussion and post concussion syndrome
👁 headaches or migraines
👁 neck pain or cervical weakness
👁 vertigo or dizziness
👁 balance issues/other neurological conditions

Vestibular and Oculomotor assessment is a lesser known part of the physical therapy world, but is super fun for us to do! We can help the eyes work better with the brain to decrease headaches, dizziness, and concussion symptoms, and trust me, this can make a HUGE DIFFERENCE!!

We can also use these same exercises with balance deficits and neurological conditions to make you feel more confident with walking, and even decrease falls. Sometimes we use them to get the neck stronger and more stable to prevent headaches, and help the body deal with chronic stress and tension. Let us know if you feel like this is something you are struggling with and we can help you out at CC’s!
